HELP US TO BE ABLE TO FEED EVERYONE WHO WALKS UP TO OUR DOOR AT THE HUNGER AND HEALTH COALITION.
For 2021 we are launching our "Fill The Bag" campaign!
Our last pick up in February helped us put 4,556 pounds of food on the shelf. We thought we should set the bar a little higher for our next pick ups.
1.2 POUNDS OF FOOD EQUALS 1 MEAL
For our April pick up we are aiming for 7,000 pounds! 7,000 pounds means 3,805 people right here in Watauga County will be able to eat.
Help us to Fill the Bag by April 24th, because when we work together, we can make sure hunger ends here.

april 24th goal
Every green bag that comes through our doors is changing lives.
Every two weeks, while out doing your routine shopping, pick up an item for our friends in need.
On a designated day, leave your bag outside your door step or leave at a common drop off location and a volunteer driver will pick up your bag!
The volunteer driver or drop off location will have another bag for you for the next pick up, restarting the process!
Stay connected to your community, safely!
Our volunteer drivers are integral to our mission at A Simple Gesture. Without them, we simply would not function. They bring in thousands of pounds of food to the Hunger and Health Coalition.
Volunteer driving is made for COVID 19. Socially distant and non contact, driving allows you to still be committed to making a last impact on your community.
Our drivers love seeing parts of Watauga County they have never seen before AND there is always a smiling face and goodies to greet you when your'e done!
be a volunteer driver
Everything we do, we do safely and with caution, even sorting!
Our volunteer drivers work hard to bring in thousands of pounds food, but our volunteer sorters work even harder to put it on the shelves at the Hunger and Health Coalition. Our streamline sorting efforts are quick and efficient!
You'll work alongside other passionate members of the community hoping to end food insecurity. We promise you'll go to bed knowing you made a difference in your community, and probably a little sore too!
